Gemini and Virgo Friendship Compatibility

Gemini and Virgo Friendship Compatibility

Despite the differences between airy Gemini and earthy Virgo, theirs is an astrological recipe for a great relationship. The two sun signs appreciate what makes the other person special, and is comfortable being close to people that aren’t like them. Both have a horoscope for natural curiosity.

While their compatibility is easy, it is not necessarily deep. These aren’t the type to do everything together and share their deepest secrets. But they are both loyal and happy to care about the other person, sometimes from a healthy distance.

Are Gemini and Virgo Compatible as Friends?

Despite their differences, Gemini and Virgo make good friends. Gemini can often look like a leaf blowing in the wind, flying from one thing to another. While Virgo tends to have their feet squarely on the ground. But these two appreciate one another and don’t let their differences get in the way of a good friendship.

Expect a hands-off “live and let live” friendship. These two aren’t the type to live in each other’s pockets. But if either needs to talk, they know that they can rely on one another.

Mutual Interests

Gemini and Virgo have more in common than many people imagine. Gemini tends to have eclectic interests about everything, but they tend to keep their knowledge and investment relatively superficial.

While this might seem frustrating for Virgo, who likes to go deep into the things that really catch their attention, Virgo is also very eclectic in their interests. They love to learn fresh new things, but separate the areas where they are expert, and where they are just dabbling.

Virgo won’t tend to be frustrated if Gemini gives up on a shared interest. Virgo is an independent spirit and quite self-involved, and so they will happily plow on alone. They might try to get Gemini interested, but are happy to let Gemini do their own thing.

Neither Gemini nor Virgo are the most reliable of friends. Gemini is always having their attention drawn by what is new of different. As a result, they can forget their commitments, or blow them off because there is something else that they would rather be doing.

Virgo, on the other hand, can be reticent about putting themselves out there, even when it comes to lending a helping hand. They can be worried that what they do will not be sufficient or welcome, and so may do nothing.

As a result, neither Gemini nor Virgo are likely to deliver chicken soup to a sick friend. But neither of them really expect that. Both believe that you see who your real friends are when you are in trouble.

Both Gemini and Virgo are those people who show up when you need them most, even though they are the last people that you expect.

Fun & Excitement

Outgoing Gemini loves nothing more than meeting new people, and will never go home before the end of a party. Virgo, on the other hand, takes a long time to warm up to new people. They also hate being the last person at a party as they worry about overstaying their welcome.

Add to this that Virgo tends to be a planner, while Gemini likes to jump in without a plan, and these two probably shouldn’t plan a holiday together. The only thing that might make it work is that both are willing to go off on their own if staying together is not working out.

Likelihood to Last

While Gemini and Virgo might find themselves spending a lot of time together when the first meet, this is a situation that is unlikely to continue.

Gemini is always making new friends, so naturally starts to spend less time with other friends. Virgo is not the type to chase people, and is not usually the one who reaches out and makes plans. As a result, soon the two can find themselves spending very little time together.

But neither has a problem with this. Both see waves of intimacy and separation as a fact of life. Virgo is happy plowing on with their own thing, and Gemini is surrounded by new friends. Time apart won’t dent a genuine Gemini-Virgo friendship.

Gemini and Virgo friends can struggle to form a very deep bond. While Gemini is open and happy to share most things about themselves, Virgo is much more reticent. Gemini’s changeability and tendency to gossip is unlikely to break down Virgo’s defenses.

When Virgo is in defensive mode, they tend only to share the vision of themselves that they want people to see. As since they are excellent actors, Gemini probably won’t realize that this is happening.

Virgo will probably feel justified in holding back as Gemini moves on. Gemini will probably be largely oblivious to the situation, and Virgo won’t mind. For Virgo, finding people that you can truly trust with your inner thoughts is a rare thing. They are happy with the friendship how it is.

Gemini and Virgo Potential to be More Than Just Friends

While Virgo might find an admirer in Gemini, as Virgo tends to have an intense and understated magnetism, the feelings are less likely to be mutual. While Gemini can fall in and out of live quickly, Virgo is very hard to impress or interest.

Virgo, while willing to accept Gemini’s inconsistency in a friend, would struggle with this in a partner. Virgo also needs to be certain that their partner is 100 percent devoted to them. Gemini’s innocent wandering eye and naturally flirty nature is likely to put Virgo off.

If the two do find themselves together, this same thing is likely to be the source of most issues. Virgo will be looking for constant signs of singular devotion. Gemini will be unable to respond, and may soon find the pressure to provide becomes too much.

That is not to say that a Gemini and Virgo love connection never works. Virgo has the power to hold Gemini’s attention if they truly align. Virgo is surprisingly adaptable and better able to deal with the tumult of Gemini’s world than most.
