Aries and Taurus Friendship Compatibility

Aries and Taurus Friendship Compatibility

Aries and Taurus friendships are usually squarely based on shared interests, and tend to be functional rather than intimate.

But Aries and Taurus actually compliment each other very well, with Aries encouraging reticent Taurus to be a little more adventurous and daring, and Taurus pushing Aries to think before they leap. The result is strong and healthy friendships, even if they aren’t overly deep.

Are Aries and Taurus Compatible as Friends?

Aries and Taurus friendships can be rare, as Aries will often fail to see a connection. While Taurus sees it, they can often be too reticent to say or do anything about it. But their proximity and opposing polarities on the astrological chart means that they sometimes do come together, against the odds.

When they do form a connection, it tends to be strong and healthy. It is strong as it is usually anchored in shared interests and social circles which give it a firm structure. It is healthy, because the bond tends to be relatively shallow in terms of emotions, so there is not a great deal of fuel for genuine conflict.

Mutual Interests

Aries and Taurus are both ambitious, though they pursue their goals in different ways. Fire signs Aries tends to take risks and plunge in head-first. As an Earth sign, Taurus is more measured. They come up with a plan, work hard, and believe that show and steady wins the race.

But both signs tend to want and value the same things. For example, they want to have a good job, they want to be financially successful, and they want to be respected.

While Aries would like a bit of adventure added to the mix, Taurus craves stability. But despite these differences, they often find common ground when it comes to their interests.

Aries don’t have a reputation for being the most loyal of friends. This is because, when they see something that they want, they go after it, without really considering how it might affect the people around them.

Taurus are actually very similar, in that they don’t let anything stand in the way of them reaching their goals. But, as they are better at reading people and situations and more aware of the potential impact on their reputation, they are much more subtle.

For this reason, you might think that Aries and Taurus wouldn’t make a very loyal pair. However, once they form a bond, both signs are the type to stick by someone through thick and thin. Neither are very judgemental, and they both believe that you should never turn your back on someone.

For this reason, while they might not always seem like they are supporting each other, when things get tough, they’ll be there, no questions asked.

Fun & Excitement

Taurus is not known as the most fun-loving of signs. They crave stability and order, and don’t really like to let things get in the way of the goals they are working hard to achieve. They are not impulsive. Aries, on the other hand, loves a good adventure and doesn’t really know how to say no to a challenge.

But Aries is also a natural leader, so they have a way of encouraging Taurus, who would usually say no, to say yes! Once Taurus does say yes, they are a good person to have along on an adventure as they seem to manage to keep a cool head, no matter how chaotic the world around them becomes.

Aries tends to help Taurus step out of their comfort zone a little more often, and Taurus can temper Aries’ desire to run into everything head-first, often without considering the consequences.

Likelihood to Last

Aries always puts themselves first, which means that they often put their friends second. While they are not malicious, and would never do anything to deliberately hurt anyone, they simply don’t have a good awareness of how their actions impact others. This means that they can often inadvertently lose friends.

Taurus’ reticence to put themselves out there means that they often struggle to make friends. However, once they do make friends, they don’t let go of them. Plus, their sensitivity and ability to read people means that they don’t make the kinds of mistakes that we often see with Aries.

Their empathy makes them a good match for Aries as they can see that some of Aries’ more questionable behavior is based on ignorance rather than malice, so they understand it better. This, combined with the things that Aries and Taurus have in common and the generally loyal nature of both, means that their friendships are usually built to last.

Both Aries and Taurus are ambitious and focussed on their own journeys. They are also both highly self-sufficient. This means that neither is really looking for a best friend with whom to share all of their intimate thoughts.

Both signs tend to want more functional friendships with people with whom they share interests. For this reason, they usually find friends through common social circles, at the office, or at the gym or similar location.

Their shared interests give them a solid connection that will not be easily broken, but it can tend to be superficial.

While Taurus’ generous nature means that they will still go above and beyond to help their Aries friend if they need to move house or borrow money, neither is calling the other to talk through the emotional trials of their latest break up.

Aries and Taurus Potential to be More Than Just Friends

Aries and Taurus actually make a very good couple in the way that they support each other. They are both ambitious and often have their sights set on similar dreams.

They can help each other get there with Aries encouraging Taurus to take more risks, and Taurus encouraging Aries to be more cautious. The result is often a highly effective power couple.

While Taurus is generally reticent when it comes to love, they might be willing to take a risk on Aries. This is because a successful Aries will look like a good partner on paper. It is generally Aries that takes what looks like a good sensible match to a deeper emotional level.

As a fire sign, Aries loves and fights deeply. While Taurus is generally cool-headed, the force of Aries’ fire can ignite their own, resulting in a very passionate relationship.

These relationships also tend to last as both signs are very loyal, and will believe in sticking by their partner through the ups and downs that all relationships experience. However, expect competitive tendencies and conflicting goals to be the source of ongoing minor conflict.
